Carlsbad, CA: Current and former Press-Enterprise distribution supervisors and managers filed a class action lawsuit against the newspaper alleging unpaid overtime and meal breaks. The circulation employees of newspaper claimed that they were misclassified as exempt from California's overtime and meal break/rest period requirements. Before the matter went to trial, Belo re-classified these employment positions and settled all claims with the current and former employees who worked during the applicable four-year statutory period under California law.
