A lawsuit was filed against the general contractor responsible for building the Vashon Island Chautauqua Elementary School. In 2004, design and construction defects resulted in mold and water damage and cost $4.9 million to repair. Even though the school was built over 10 years prior, the statute of limitations did not apply to this case. Wick Constructors has reached a $2.01 million settlement with the school district.
