MissionWise Conducts Intellectual Property Workshop
SEATTLE, WA - MissionWise, the consulting division of Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C.H.E.F.), conducted an Intellectual Property (IP) workshop entitled “Your Organization’s Intellectual Property: Know It, Protect It, and Profit From It,” on July 16, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.
The workshop, jointly sponsored by Seattle-based Executive Alliance, targeted executive staff and management of nonprofits, foundations, education, and government agencies, a press release by MissionWise stated.
The workshop started by introducing the notion that many health and human service organizations possess intellectual assets and how these organizations are often unaware of the risks involved in not protecting their Intellectual Property and the different forms of IP.
“There is significant interest and desire by health and human service organizations of all kinds to better understand Intellectual Property and its application to many public sector products, services, and programs,” C.H.E.F.’s President and CEO Larry Clark said.
“MissionWise conducts a series of workshops on a wide variety of topics related to social enterprise, and this one is always popular,” he added.
“In Seattle, nearly thirty organizations are attending this informative, practical, and useful workshop, and we look forward to helping them identify untapped opportunities to achieve stronger outcomes by considering the application of Intellectual Property to their mission and programs,” Clark concluded.
MissionWise is the consulting division of Seattle-based Comprehensive Health Education Foundation, the nationally known nonprofit that helps health and human service organizations eliminate health inequities through its unique blend of philanthropy and advocacy, as well as training, mentoring, and consulting.
