ICANN Requests an Independent Evaluator

MARINA DEL REY, CA - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is seeking to appoint an independent evaluator to undertake a review of the Root Server Stability Advisory Committee (RSSAC), a press release by ICANN stated.

The review is designed to determine: (i) whether the RSSAC is fulfilling its purpose in the ICANN structure; and (ii) if so, whether any change in structure or operations is desirable to improve its effectiveness.

The Request For Proposal (RFP) should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Reference for Independent Review of RSSAC found at .

The Review is due to begin in the third quarter of 2008. A full project timeline will be developed, but it is anticipated that a key milestone will include interviews and consultation during at ICANN’s Cairo meeting in early November 2008 and presentation of a draft report at the meeting in Mexico in early March 2009.

The Review is expected to include personal interviews, surveys, research and consultation with members of the ICANN community. The successful organization is welcome to suggest additional forms of soliciting information.

ICANN will provide to the Review team background documentation and reports and access to a range of historical data on a confidential basis.
Expressions of Interest should be emailed to no later than July 15, 2008.
