Another Week, Another Northwest Ark. Developer Bankruptcy

This isn't a news flash, but another northwest Arkansas real estate developer has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.

Mark Brewer of Springdale, who owns several companies including MAB Builders Inc. and Real Assets Inc., listed $5.6 million in debts and $1 million in assets.

Brewer listed $4 million in debts that are owed to creditors holding unsecured claims.

About $2.7 million was owed to ANB Financial of Bentonville, which failed in May.

He reported making $72,000 in 2006 and 2007. And he's made about $20,000 so far in 2008.

Brewer started his real estate sales and development business in 2001. And he launched his residential construction firm in 2004.

Brewer couldn't be reached for comment, and his attorney, John Lee of Siloam Springs, didn't return a call for comment.
